Hi everyone, and good morning to all.

I have fixed ALL issues (knock on wood) on my truck. No check engine lights and the truck shifts amazing, but, i may be either over-worrying or something else needs to be replaced.

The only issue left is that the tach still is about as smooth as 80 grit sandpaper. It jumps up, stays there for a minute, jumps up, stays there for a minute, so on and so forth until it shifts into the next gear. Both transmissions have done this. I’m wondering about the TPS as it seems the eco light tends to have a seizure after shifting, and that the truck doesn’t shift flare (i don’t know why, that’s normal RFE operation) when speeding up with cruise control on, and it seems to be much smoother overall when using cruise control to speed up instead of the gas pedal.

Also, both new and old transmissions love to overheat in park and drive at idle. At 80°F ambient temp the trans will reach (and surpass) 180 in park and neutral, but i can lower the temps by stepping on the gas and raising the RPMs. Almost makes me think there’s a fluid restriction in the cooler that requires higher pressure to move around fluid. When in drive and actually moving, the trans goes back to normal temps. When it’s 50°F outside and the truck is moving in drive, the temps typically will be around 105-110.

If it’s normal, then it’s normal, and ignore this post. If not, i’d gladly like some help. I have no trans thermo, forgot to mention that earlier.
