I purchased a 2014 RAM 1500 V8 HEMI with 130K miles on it. I test drove it before buying and the used car dealer asked for 1 week to get it ready (Safety etc...). When I went to pick it up and started it, I heard the engine tick sound, the dealer said its the lifters and got them fixed in 5 days. Went again to pick up and test drove, tick sound gone but during the test drive on uphill between 25-50 Mph, It started to give jerks. This only happened when going at those speed UPHILL. It felt the same as when you gas it and let go and gas it and let go again. Dealer sent it RAM dealership, they upgraded the software and ran the scanner... no error codes found. I went to pick it up again today and the same issue. Since I bought extended warranty, the dealer gave me two options, accept the delivery and if engine or transmission fails I get it fixed through the warranty program. OR choose another vehicle and they don't have any 1500s at the moment only 2500s or Ford and GMC. Totally confused as to what should I do? Should I accept the delivery and go through the warranty or look for other brands he has.

IMO if it does not run correctly why would you buy it, how do you know for sure the warranty will cover 100% what ever the problem is with out any cost to you???

It wasn’t fixed correctly or possibly needs new engine. You don’t want this truck. Can’t believe there isn’t option 3, get all money back.

Thanks for the advice. I decided to buy 2018 1500 sport night edition from the same dealer. Cost me a bit more but had it inspected by a mechanic this time with extended warranty. Pickup is this Friday!

ABSOLUTELY the right move. It could be as simple as the fuel pump on the original truck, but it could also be soemthing a WHOLE bunch bigger. Let us know how it goes with the new truck,
