I have a 2015 1500 and recently my fuel sensor has been failing when my tank is just under half a tank.

Basically I will fuel up my tank and it will take about 50 miles of driving before the engine light will turn off. Once my gas tank hits just under half a tank, I'll get a fuel sensor warning in the EVIC and the check engine light will come on.

The fuel needle analog dash display will bounce from empty and read current for a little while until eventually it will just stay on empty.

Any thoughts for a solution or does anyone know of a recall/customer satisfaction replacement program?

Thanks all!

Try running a high concentration of Techron Concentrate Plus through a tank or two. It's supposed to clean any gunk off the fuel level sensor. Make sure it says "Plus" on it tho.

If that doesn't work you're probably looking at a new fuel level sensor....

Check to see if you still have warranty on your vehicle. If so take it to your nearest authorized dealer and have it replaced. They'll tell you they have to replace the whole fuel pump assembly unit at a tune of $700-ish. :33:

The part itself cost me $110 and 2hrs of my time doing the install. Someone chime in with the part# for the float??

I'll try the cleaner as my first attempt to fix it.

If that doesn't work, I'll replace the part myself. If someone could provide the part number, that would be a great start for my research.

Would I need to drop the gas tank to gain access or is it accessible from inside the cab of the truck like in passenger vehicles?

Yeah give it a shot, worst case you cleaned some carbon out of the the engine.

As for the Part number, I’d PM Benny on here at @AllMoparParts.com because it may be a VIN specific...

You will need to drop the tank or lift the drivers side of the bed up to gain access to the pump.
