You've seen @Burla oil filter test data, yes? Of those tested, only Royal Purple and Fram had high efficiency. The rest were pretty much rock catchers.

Since when did Motortrend start charging for past episodes via their own streaming channel? Sheesh. Everything's a grift now for mo' money. I suppose nobody watches tv anymore. I didn't sign up for yet another individual pay-for site....too many as it is.

But I did go on a tangent back to BITOG where the independent oil filter test report was. Reading through a dozen pages of discussion, including responses from the test agency, leads me to conclude Fram Ultra is superior to Royal Purple in both small particle filtration efficiency, holding capacity, and flow restriction. (the final posts were about how negative BITOG became - ha ha)

This is according to the test data. Then Burla reported some Fram Ultra media degradation over years of storage, which shouldn't happen if their media is truly synthetic as they claim.

With RP's getting more difficult to source, maybe I'll just go back to Fram Ultra.

If you look off to the side of the video,you'll see a place where you can make comments.
