Got a question for you guys.

Just picked up a 2014 Ram R/T, and I can't help but notice that the oil temp gauge sits about 3/4 of the way up during normal highway driving.

Is this normal? Oil pressure and engine temp seem fine.

Normal. What is the temp reading at in the EVIC? Mine warms up to around 212 and stays there unless I'm beating on it.

I think with a stock T-stat normal is around 210 like Riccochet said.

With my 180 T-stat mine never goes over 200

Oil temp should be higher than coolant temp. Don't get the two mixed up now.

That's about what mine is.

Thanks for the responses gents. Looks like the gauge just isn't centered on the normal OP Temp. I have a thermostat on my list of improvements in the future now lol.

Im not getting them mixed but the oil will run cooler with a colder T-stat.

If I said mine wasn't going over 200. People would think somethings wrong. Just stating with my cooler 180 T-stat the oil temp is cooler.

on my 2012 SRT8 Challenger (3000 miles) I was concerned with the evic reading in regards to engine temp but the actual gauge was spot on.
