95 1500, 5.9 4x4. I have had the truck for about a month. Recently replaced the water pump. Now when I start it up in the morning (cold weather been 0 to 20 degrees) transmission shifts slow, seems like all gears. It does get better after it warms up, probaly 10 miles or so. Every once in a while it will stall and die when it is in gear when I come to a stop, not very often twice in the past month, and starts back up just fine. Fuel milage seems to be on the poor side, have'nt actually checked it to see what the mpg is.

I have done some searching on the problem, and sounds like it could be more of a sensor problem than anything. As soon as it warms up some I plan on changing tranny fluid and filter. Just looking for some possible points to start at. The previous owner had the spark plugs replaced about 5000 miles ago. Thanks for any help. Truck also has 165,000 miles, and to best of my knowledge, everything is original.

tranny's shift slow in the winter due to the fluid being cold and thicker. Sounds you may possibly have a vaccum leak.
