I have a 2010 dodge ram with the 4.7L and am having issues with starting. Most times I have to turn the key 5-20 times to get it to turn over. Each time I try, it gives me a short burst but doesn't turn all the way over. Similar to what you would encounter with a low battery. Eventually, it will turn over and then the truck runs fine. I've heard that the WIN modules are notoriously bad in these trucks. I'm wondering if anyone can has encountered this problem and if replacing the WIN did the trick.
Part 2: If replacing the WIN is the recommended fix, I'm wondering if replacing it with the remote start version of the module will give my truck the remote start feature. I've found a website that offers new modules with 2 keys already programmed to my vin for about 600 bucks. The remote start and non remote start modules are the same price on that website.
