Serious question...

I have a 2016 V6. Everything on it runs and looks good. But now I need more power to tow and load the family. I love everything about my truck as it is but need the torque and power of an 8. How feasible is an engine swap?

If I trade it in and put down money saved up I will have to still owe around 15k. It is currently paid off. Is it possible to put 10-15k to swap in a new engine and everything that goes along with it?

Money aside (which it will probably cost you close to if not more than $15k) The real problem with this idea is that your payload/tow rating sticker will still show what the v6 does. So as you will for sure hear from the towing police here, you won't actually be able to tow more legally.

Plus, if you ever go to sell the truck, the vin # and carfax are going to show a v6. So someone is going to see a heavily modified truck and you will ruin your resale value.

IMO, wait a bit for the market to come down (hopefully) and buy another truck.

By the time you're into it it wouldn't be worth it in your case. Swapping isnt hard but if you ever plan to sell it you'll Probly take a hit. Plus you'd need a complete engine, wiring harness, computer. Not sure if the rad is smaller or not so you'd need to research that as well. If you are set on it find a donor vehicle then you have everything you need to swap it and handy if u need more parts.

Trade it. Your idea isn’t really based in any kind of reality. Not trying to be rude, I do the same and end up convincing myself out of whatever hairbrained idea I come up with.

Well she's a front wheel drive rite now. [emoji23] Waiting on parts to get going again. But massive plans in the works for axles now..
Contemplating a supercharger though. Already in deep might as well full send it.

I saw that haha. Break it, upgrade it, break it again... The cycle goes on.

I am quickly getting to that point myself, I want a fast toy again. But do you really want to crank that sucker up even more? I am sure the power level is damn near perfect for that truck.

There is no such thing as too much power! I need to find some power wagon axles front and rear and then I'll probly run big rubber and build my own suspension.

None of my stuff is ever completely built [emoji23]

That's what I said to my x when I first git the truck! I'm keeping it mostly stock, just intake and exhaust. It was stock for like 5 days. It had a tuner, a stereo, exhaust intake and I was plotting from there. As things broke I upgraded more and more.

If you ask me the smiles are worth it. Plus I'm getting better mpg than the 5.7 hemi I mean who doesn't like modified wiyh better fuel economy... [emoji50]

You could find the power plant you want in a scrap yard buy the whole truck issued with a parts title put two major components in your truck like motor and trans then register your truck as assembled vehicle then two years later you can register it with whatever vin you want of the two trucks of course. I would say 8k or less way less if you wrench it your self.
