Hi all,
I have a 2014 Ram 1500 5.7L Big Horn Crew Cab with an 8HP70 transmission. The current engine and transmission have 280k on them, and I just developed the lifter/cam issue. Transmission is also at the end of its service life. Not complaining, as it seems to be a fair amount of miles before my first major issue. I have purchased a lift-out from a 2017 model that includes a 5.7L engine, 8HP transmission, wiring harness, and ECM. My question is, should I get the lift bar to pull the old motor and transmission and set the new ones, or a lift plate? I know it will be around 800lbs together and want to make sure Im not damaging anything on the way out or back in.
Any advice on what to watch out for, or in general, is appreciated.
