I currently have a 2021 1500 Bighorn with the 5.7 Hemi w/etorque. I just test drove a 2024 1500 Rebel w/ the 5.7 Hemi w/etorque. It only has 10K miles on it.
I noticed that when decelerating and getting down to around 20mph at around 2K rpms I heard what I describe as a humming/wooshing sound. It almost sounds like tire noise you get from AT or MT tires. However, this only occurred during decelerating, so its not the tires.
The engine sounds fine accelerating and cruising. Its just when slowing down. I had someone drive the truck past me and I couldnt hear it from outside.
Im trying to determine what this might be. Im down possibly brake drag or something in the engine itself. If its the engine, Im wondering if there is any variation between the 21 and 24s where this might be considered normal and Im just not used to it since my 21 doesnt do it.
any ideas?
