I have a 2000 Dodge ram 2500 with the 360 Gas engine. I burnt up the clutch a couple months ago and decided to let a guy who has a shop at his house replace it. He put a new cluth and flywheel on. Everything ran fine for about 300-400 miles, then I started getting a squeal when the cluth was pushed an inch or 2. I let him work on it again and he discovered the throughout bearing was already worn out from the slave cylinder sticking.

He replaced the clutch again with a better throughout bearing. The flywheel wasn't touched this time since it only had a few hundred miles on it. When I got the truck back I noticed the engine seemed to run a little rougher and there's a vibration around 2800-3000 rpm, even with the clutch pushed and the truck not moving.

His advice was "drive it and see if it goes away". Well it hasn't after 100 miles. Then he suggested maybe the motor twisted with the trans off and the distributor hit the firewall. I haven't taken it off yet but didn't feel any cracks.

What else should I check? This started after clutch work so I would almost fault the flywheel, but it has maybe 500 miles on it now.

Next time I'll let a real shop do any work if I'm not going to do it.
