After a cold start idle revs up 1500rpm and runs smooth for about 1 minute (idle down to 1000 now) then engine runs rough and starves for air because the TB valve is still closed causing a suction sound. This rough idle goes on for about another minute until it revs up to 1500 again, then the rpms drop and all is well. If I drive it during this process there is a slight acceleration hesitation but it stops as the rpms increase. Could the TPS not be reacting soon enough?
Otherwise, 98 RAM 1500 5.2L V8 starts and runs great all year long, filters, ignition and vacuum good, throttle body clean, only sensors ever replaced was IACV and O2 downstream. Low mileage, well maintained, mostly factory original and no fault codes so not sure what I need to look for. Thanks in advance for your consideration.
