Started the truck and what sounded like a backfire, eTorque light on with an exclamation point to its right. Engine running for ****, engine light blinking off/on, left vehicle at service department, with only 3200 miles.

Was going to wait until oil change, to have them check out my rear issue. Twice in reverse, on a slope in 2 wheel, making a sharp left turn the rear would lock. Taking out of reverse and moving forward the issue would clear.

Any words of wisdom?

Never mind, I misread it, you dropped it off at the dealership already.

Called service department today: due to a seating issue, the left side lifters are being replaced. Dang, that doesn't make me happy.

Were you getting a lot of lifter ticking?

None, started the vehicle, heard a pop. eTorque light came on with blinking engine light. The vehicle went into limp mode, while driving to dealership.

They still have the vehicle, of course no courtesy updates.

Emailed the owner of the dealership, requesting they extend my warranty for the length of my ownership. His reply, that is very extreme.

Proceeded to inform him that they are unable to guarantee me that metal shavings didn’t end up in the motor. Therefore the request for the extended warranty. Currently have the 7 year 100,000 miles.

Just rcvd status report, they have a code that required them to call someone in the RAM chain. They were advised to install a new fuel injector.

Of course with the vehicle being new, they have a parts issue. Hopefully they will receive tomorrow.

Dang!

First thought I had was, yeah, fuel delivery issue. Delt with those before, can cause all kinds of odd things. First time (not last time...) I had a fuel issue, was actually in a Dodge, go figure. And, in today's tech heavy engines, whoooo boy. (i.e. eTorque message is a symptom, not a cause...)

Though, I bet they fix it and you never see it again. Might not be quite that easy. Stick to them, hard, ask questions, ask for answers. Ram Cares seems to actually, well, care. So stay in touch with them. Some of the best fixes take time. You can often end up with a better truck than before.

They delivered the vehicle to my house, Friday afternoon. Delivery men left and I smelled antifreeze the reservoir dip stick was dry. Called them, they sent the delivery men with a gallon of antifreeze & a loaner, we then noticed what appeared to be gas on the left side of the engine. Appears the enjectors are leaking.

off went my poor truck, back to the shop. This is BS

Damn. I’d be irritated to say the least with their QA department. Mechanical things break, that’s the nature of the beast, but you’d think it wouldn’t happen this early.

Is this the only Ram dealer near you?

Start Lemon law proceedings, meaning start documenting everything, take pics, sounds like this dealer is taking you for a ride, what does a fuel injector and a Antifreeze leak, have to do with eTorque, keep the loaner don't give it back till you're satisfied.

Service Department just called:

The wetness was residue fom the ejector replacement.

The antifreeze on the block and radiator was also residue.

They forgot to fill the reservoir.

Dang, what a *****

May need to find a different dealer to work on the truck. That is really bad service.
