exhaust downturn

So I've been thinking of getting rid of the stock piece of the exhaust that goes up and over the rear axle and replace it with a downturn right behind the muffler. Do you think there will be any ill affects if I did this. If someone has done this let me know how of went.

alot dump ther exhaust. wont do anything to your truck. make it louder and a little more drone in the cab.

Yep, and in MO you wouldn't be able to put a camper on it. Exhaust must exist 12" past last opening window or out the side in case of truck with camper. Now if you never plan on having a camper this isn't a big deal. I have run turn downs on a few cars I ran, makes for a cleaner look outside the car but under it all the black soot makes it a lot dirtier to work on.
Grab a 90 deg turn and some extra pipe from your local parts store and run it out the side, avoid all problems and have a louder truck! =)
