Let me begin by saying I realize right after I came home that I had the wrong shop put custom exhaust on my truck! Bunch of bends & seams!!! If that is not bad enough the tail pipe hangers keep breaking. This is the 3rd time in less than a year I have had to have them re-welded. He is supposed to fix it for me in a few days but I don't have much faith. These look like the same solid rod, bent around & welded to the pipe hangers I have had on my other vehicles with no issues. They have broken at the weld & just above the weld so it's not only a ****** weld job. Anybody have any suggestion?

Bite the bullet and go to a different shop- Have them fix it all and be done.

Also sounds like the bends weren't bent right and they are pulling the pipe whichever way they need to get it in place and welding it to the hangars...with a constant pull of the pipe away from the hangars as a result.

These guys have a decent reputation around town but man they have just butchered my system. I am going to give them one more chance to make this right but I will NEVER have any work done by them again. If one of them breaks again I will put my tail between my legs & have someone else fix it.

I agree with above about a lot of shops using hangers to "pull pipes in place" this adds stress and is what causes them to break.

Rewelding, or welding on top of an old weld is never a good method. The metal becomes weak and will easily crack from improper heat setting when mig welding thin metals and trying to penetrate old weld.
