Looking to upgrade my stock exhaust, Should I Go Magna Hi Flow Cat (Bolt-on) first or FM 70 Cat Back 3" Single exhaust (Bolt-on) first?
Does it matter?
Gonna do both eventually, but pocket book will only allow one at a time.
Thoughts?

I say save up and get them both done at the same time. But if I would do one before the other, I'd go muffler first so I wouldnt have to wait to change the sound on my truck. Consider downgrading pipe size to 2 1/2 or 2 1/4 for better pressure with a 3" tip to keep some of the 3" sound. Don't get the guys started on magnaflow and flowmaster mufflers though, lol.

really good info if you wanted to learn more about exhaust- https://youtu.be/RWTARjxiqlo

I'll stay with this:

What sound are you looking for?

If you want the signs of the FM 70 i would actually go for just a muffler swap and 3" pipe with a muffler that big.

But. Start by finding the sound you want them go from there. It'll be easier for us to help you if you give us that.

If you were to do a simple muffler swap, you could have a shop do it and do the cat for the same price of having just the catback system purchased and installed.

ok, so I was thinking the 70 series, cause I don't want to wake the neighborhood up, but if I step on it, it should rumble. Definitely want to replace the restrictive y pipe on the stock pipes for performance reasons. Here is the Setup on amazon I was looking at...

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...rue&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000COTGEA...TF8&colid=1UJ5FBFKC0G6G&coliid=I1AH4CJDK7W3HU

Hope the links work for you guys, but they both run about $250.00 each, so If I do the bolt up myself thinking I could get it done for around $500.00

Do you want to try to persuade me on other options?
Definitely looking for less restrictive y-pipe and relatively quiet at low RPM's on the back half.

That 70 isn't really going to orifice any rumble even when you step on it. It's nearly as big as the stocker. Honestly if you like the chambered type sound, you'd be better off with a 50 series. I'll link a video of the one i had if you want.

Or you can also go with an 18" magnaflow. Quiet but rumbles with throttle. 14" is the same way but idk how aggressive you're wanting. I can link that as well if you want.

Yeah that 70 isn't going to do you any good for sound or performance. The FM 50 that DaPepper said would be a better buy. Also if money is tight you could get a Thrush turbo muffler for much cheaper.

Honestly I didn't like the 50 Series all that much myself. Also droned more than straight pipe.

14" Magnaflow

My buddy told me this is pretty accurate to what my truck sounded like from the outside (I never heard it revved or driven from the outside lol). I loved the deepness it had but it was too quiet for me. An 18" Magnaflow wouldn't be as aggressive but should still have that deepness to it.

So the Magnaflow 18" is that a Round or a Oval? Is there a difference in tone?

For what it's worth, the thrush turbo will likely have the sound to want....but mine has apparently broken something inside it.
