Adding a K&N intake and looking to swap our stock muffler to possibly a Mufflex 18M and have custom pipes installed. Also been looking at a Flowmaster 50 HD. Looking for a deep growl but nothing to **** off the neighbors...

In regards to drone noise on the highway. Do you recommend Mufflex Resonance Cancellation Pipe Kit? If not what do you suggest?

Also, what benefit does the magnaflow Y pipe have, is it less restrictive?

Sorry Bro but I'm Canadian and I don't speak french at all; learned Spanish as a second language. But you being from Montreal Canada your first language is French? and maybe English after that? Go Justin Trudeau!

I know nothing of exhaust yet as I haven't been down that road. I'm sure others will join in though. :welcome:

The mufflex kits don't drone that bad, I had an 18 and you could hear it but ever so slightly. The flowmasters will drone more due to them being chambered and the sound waves bounce around in the muffler more.

If you just want a a deep growl, go with either the 24 or 18 inch mufflex. The 50hd is supposed to be good, and not have much drone but not sure.

I had the 18 and it sounded great, had a good time but not too loud, almost zero drone in the cab

"I recommend you use the search function..."

not all people are familiar with forum layouts. One thing that people like about RF is we have members that are always willing to help. Telling someone to use the search doesn't make new members feel real welcome.

In this case the person has already done some research, and now is asking for opinions

mufflex 14" ftw, love it, nice growl on start up, mellow idle and slow cruise until you get on it then it screams, no real drone, you hear the tone every now and then at certain speeds but barely

I have a magnaflow 18" with the resonator removed. Sounds fantastic, but I wish o had a little more noise.

I personally like have the deleted muffler option. It has that growl you're looking for (especially when you lay on the throttle), idles at a low rumble, won't **** off the neighbors, and has less air restriction than a muffler. I do still have my stock resonators on. Below is an exhaust thread that has videos and clips of different options. I know there's a lot in this thread, but it can be an additional way to hear the sounds from what members have.

Below are a couple of youtube videos of my exhaust setup. I have an S&B CAI with an 87mm ported TB and plan to upload a new video showing the sounds with these. Haven't had a chance to, but hopefully these will give you an idea of what my setup sounds like.

You are a good moderator. I have seen forums where the moderators are insulting and un-accomodating as well.
