I'm looking into upgrading my exhaust.

I have a 2017 1500 Crew Cab 5.7 Hemi w/ oem dual exhaust.

I wanted to increase performance and sound.

Would any of you be able to make some suggestions?

I just ordered a Carven Progressive from Nick@GotExhaust. I haven't received it yet but Nick has been great to work with thus far. Carven seems to be well recommended around here so I went ahead and placed the order. Sorry that I don't have any first hand experience with it yet.

I currently have a 14" Magnaflow that I love, just mean and clean sounding

it is just on highway it has a little bit of a drone that the wife is complaing about when we travel

Really look at the type of driving you do before making a decision

I am getting a Borla XR1 installed tomorrow so I can let you know on that

Not sure if it will or worse ..... lol

Dealt with Nick on this as well, great guy

I like CORSA, not as loud as some that have been mentioned. None are going to increase performance or mpg.

I'm looking at putting Flowmaster of Magnaflow on my 17. It'll be interesting to see what gets recommended.

On my 17 i put on 18" magnaflow with 5" tips. Love it!! Nice sound, not too loud and the tips opens the sound some. I chose the middle size magna cuz im old enough to be over rattle the neighborhood exaust, been there done that, with short muffler and the 24 just seemed like it would be too close to 55 gallon drum oem muffler

I’m thinking a good rumble at idle and a nice growl when you step on the throttle.

I’m thinking direct bolt on

How is borla to magnaflow?

I had the Magnaflow on my 2011, loved it. Then did the catback on this one, hated the MDS on highway, pulled off and went back to stock.
Ive looked at the Borla kit, seems nice.

If you can afford Borla I would go with that but everyone is going to have a differant opinion on exhausts. I have a Carven muffler and I love mine. Popular exhaust choices are Magnaflow and Carven. Borla is just more $$ so you see it less.

Let me know if we can help you out. We offer just about everything. They all will flow better than stock and increase sound.

We offer discounts on everything!

Carven is by far the biggest seller here

xxxxxxxx

Short of headers, exhaust gains are going to sound better than perform.
OEM piping into single in, dual out muffler has good volume for stock engine. The Y pipe is awful but unless you are pushing a lot more air in, it wont matter that much coming out.

The OEM muffler is huge, heavy, chambered and too quiet. So a free/direct flowing muffler will make a little improvement and sound far, far, better.

I like Magnaflow, but Carven and Borla are popular. Both Magnaflow (Mufflex) and Carven are available in pre-configured DIY bolt in kits.

Some folks seriously love their Flowmasters, but I don't because they are chambered and therefore apt to drone when MDS cuts in--but the guys who have them love them.

You can also spend bigger green ($$$) on a new set up from catalytic converts all the way back, but that's more than you need to do (IMHO:hidesbehindsofa: ) .

Exhaust is a really personal taste decision and you will probably get answers from all over the spectrum......................
Stand by for incoming... :shooter:

Thanks guys
I just talked to a guy yesterday about the carven muffler, and he stated the same. It sounds so much better and unless your replacing from the headers back you’re not going to get much gain.

So I’m thinking the choice is almost decided from all your responses

I spent 50 and just cut the muffler out. Cheap and sounds good.

You can buy pretty much any muffler at a muffler shop, or at least the ones around me. They will be about $125 for a Flowmaster and they charge about $25 to install.
