Going to be replacing the pasanger side exhaust manifold,as you do with a 2018 Ram 1500. My questions are:

1. Do one, or both?
2. What is a quality aftermarket brand? not interested in paying for OEM.
3. Any other suggestions are welcomed.

Cheers,

BD Diesel offers replacement manifolds for the Hemi
Another option is swimming to short tube headers.

The passenger side is the easiest side. Sand it down, I sent mine to be milled down, and search the site for the Remflex gasket. It is thicker like an EGR valve gasket and provides more “cushion “. Then decide if you want to do the driver side.

I JUST DID THIS! Well…actually, I paid my favorite shop to do it for me while I was out of town.’

2015 Ram 1500, 5.7L

I asked them to check the drivers sida also…. and to re-surface the manifolds before re-installation.’

Instead, they said the drivers side is fine….and recommended replacing the pax side with a Dorman Manifold and Installation Kit.

The total WO came to $460, parts and labor. They left the old manifold and heat-shield in the bed for me to see. The rear-most bolts were broken and still stuck in the old manifold, and the old heat shield was cracked and barely hanging on.’

They assured me their experience with this issue is highy successful using the Dorman system. They’ve had zero returns due to failure.
They also said that machining the old manifold would cost more from the machine-shop than the price of a Dorman replacement kit, and would take 2 weeks longer to do the work due to the machine-shop backlogs.

New to the forum, new (used) truck owner. Similar question, but wasn't sure if I should create a new thread. 2017 1500 5.7 big horn 4x4. I have at least one broken manifold bolt, leak/tapping not horrible yet, but was looking at the jba silver ceramic shorty headers. Don't particularly want to have to heat shield everything and read that with the silver ceramic, it wasn't necessary? Also, any known issues with the fitament?

For a manifold replacement the BD manifolds are the way to go. They have a thicker flange than stock. The Flange on the OEM manifolds is what warps and breaks the bolts. The BD manifolds have been great for our customers. Send me a message and I can provide you with a quote for them or any other options
