I bought a 2016 2500 ram with the 6.4 hemi. My wife can't stand that it is quiet so I am looking for options for the exhaust system. Is it 3.5 in pipe? Has anyone removed the muffler and the resonator? What did you replace it with? I like the sound of flow masters, and borla not sure what magnaflow would sound like.

Wow yes, showed that to my wife she said that is what she wants for sound. So did you just get a magnaflow and bolt it in or take it to a shop?

I took it to a shop and we decided on the Magnaflow while I was there. I had Magnaflow on my MegaCan and liked it but wanted to explore options. I put it on when the truck had about 3800 miles on it.

I did one muffler and one tail pipe with no resonator. I couldn't get a single in, dual out muffler on the truck due to lack of space to run a pipe on the driver's side. The self leveling rear airbag system takes up too much space back there near the axle tube.

The system has about 10K miles on it now and it's really starting to sound good. Even better than the vid I posted. It's just gotten deeper and a bit louder.

I did true duals with Flowmaster Original 40 Series dumped in front of th he rear axle in 2.5 inch pipe. Did it about 26k ago and it's gotten louder which I like.

Will that would be nice but they are strict in my state where the exhaust exits. Has to behind the rear axle and they can fail inspection if they think it is trapped under the vehicle.

Good lord...what state is that? You could still run a set up like this, just extend the piping out the rear where you want it to exit with some nice big tips.

Haha, this is pretty funny. Typically it would be the other way around... The wife would be wanting the vehicle quieter. :)

I just installed a Magnaflow on my with a resonator delete. I copied this install except that my exhaust guy replaced the resonator with a piece of straight pipe and welded the stock exhaust tip back on so it exits at the stock location,

This is mine on my 2015 6.4L

I used the stock front section, added the Flowmaster and a 3.5" straight pipe to make up the length of the stock muffler. Then I used the factory over the axle pipe after cutting out the resonator. Welded in a straight 3.5" pipe the length of the resonator and painted that flat black with high temp paint. It now blends in and sounds great to me.

It is very quiet inside but it does have some drone at 1500 rpm. Altogether a good mod from my perspective.

Thank you everyone! I went with a flowmaster, and removed the resonator. I'll post a video of her sound when it allows me too.
