I have one. I like it and I don't like it. I had an Undercover SE on it, but wanted something I could take off by myself so I bought the Encore and put the Undercover on my 09. As far as looks and keeping out water I like the Undercover SE better. I like the Encore because I can take it off by myself and there is no hardware to keep up with, you close the tailgate with the cover closed and you can open the front instead of folding the cover all the way to the cab. They send you a seal for the front bulkhead but I didn't like it so I used a tailgate seal instead. I also put on tailgate seal at the tailgate, I used this one Access TrailSeal Tailgate Gasket - Videos, Installations & Reviews. It leaks a little at the front corners, I think it's coming in under the plastic bed rail covers, but it isn't much. When I first installed it it rained and when I opened the cover with a lot of water on it the water came in at the hinge where the cover folds all the way across. When it was closed no water came in at all. I haven't tried it again so I don't know it was a one time thing. I sent an email to the Extang rep for my district but haven't heard anything back. As seen in the pictures you do not have to drill any holes for the drain tubes, I just ran them trough the hole at the front tie down loops and it works just fine and you can still use the loops.

Amp Research Bed Extender. The bed already has dimples where you drill the holes for the screws.

Yes, it only takes one tool. I don't remember but it doesn't take long.

Thanx for info. I guess i can handle a 1 tool mod. Especially after hearing local shop wants $160 to install it. Thats just robbery if you ask me. I can see maybe $70 bux. But no way $160. I will post pics tomorrow aftee i install it.

Looks good. I think someone who didn't know how to use a wrench could install one of these covers.

I just took delivery of a 2012 1500 crew cab and have been looking at tonneaus. I have really been interested in the Encore. Seeing it on your truck and hearing your experience has sold me. I have the OEM drop in bedliner and other tonneaus (bakflip) seem to require some trimming or mod to the liner. The Encore rails are not mounted flush to the cab rail and dont seem to have the same issue. I presume in general you are happy?

Does the rails of the encore interfere with the bed extender? I have the encore and I'm looking at adding the extender next.
Thanks

Yes they do. If you notice the blue bungies on each side that is what is holding the extender in it's brackets. The extender can't be rotated out like normal, I have to pull it out and then hook it into it's brackets to use it extended.
