Has anyone else had a problem with their fog lamps filling up with water after a hard rain?
Really disappointing... destroyed my (expensive) LED bulb in the process. I tried to see if it was a warranty issue, they simply hemmed and hawed... "you'll have to bring it in and leave it for a day for us to inspect". Really? Leave the whole truck for a day when it takes 2 seconds to see that the fog lamp is filled with water. Sometimes I wonder about service writers.

*** I appreciate the responses, but I'm not curious how the water got in, that wasn't what I was asking. I was asking if others have had this issue. It was one lamp, and the lens was not sealed completely... when I turned it over the water seeped out between the lens and body.

I haven't heard of a problem with the fogs and water issues. Curious if you purchased the truck new or used? If new, then that's a first I've heard of fog lights housings being an issue. The only other thing I can think of is the LED bulb not seating properly (not saying you did anything wrong), in the housing because of spec differences. If you bought it used, maybe the fog light housing were replaced with aftermarket.

I've taken apart OEM fog light housing and I can say those suckers are sealed pretty good.

It was brand new, and they were factory. The new LEDs have really good o-ring seals, I'm not really sure where the water came in (haven't taken a closer look yet) but I think with the shields, etc, it was seem odd that water could get in through the bulb opening.

If they didn't leak until you swapped bulbs the answer is self-evident.

I have LEDs in my fog lights and never had an issue. A either its the bulbs or B you have a crack somewhere.

I didn't say it started when I swapped bulbs, I said it happened after a heavy rain. Anyway, I put LEDs in it almost 3 years ago, this happened last fall.

Are you sure your bulbs got connected correctly? I have had them feel connected and they weren’t in right. I would still check for a crack or chip. Some of the smallest stuff can take on water.

It was the seal between the lens and housing. It wasn't cracked, I would have seen a crack in the lens, and the bulb was sealed. I found where it was leaking, I was merely asking if anyone else had similar issues. thanks
