Factory Trailer plug removal

can you remove this from under the bumper? like unscrew it from the face plate so to speak? I added so LED lights that come in while in reverse a few years ago and I replaced them a few months due to 1 burning out. I noticed that they are now dim. I went under the truck and touched the main connection and they both got bright again. I thought it would be easier to trouble shoot if it was off and I swear I think I took it off when I installed them the first time but not quite sure.

Did you ever figure out if the plug could be removed without removing the whole bumper?

Drop your spare tire and the back side of that plug is easy to get to and figure out the removal.

The wiring plugs into the back of 4/7 pin plugin the bumper. You may or may not have to drop the spare to unplug the wiring harness.

It's a little tight but you can unplug the connector without lowering the spare.
