I am going to need tires before winter it seems, I am under 13,000 on the stockers and they are at 2-3/32 from the wear bars.

I drive the truck more like a car than truck (I.E. I rip in the turns) and the stock tires just don't like that lol.

Looking at the AT3W, Terra grappler G2 or Cooper LTZ (I.E. mild AT).

Had the LTZ back in the day on my 04 and liked them, never tried G2's but hear mixed reviews, everyone loves the AT3W's.

BUT

What are people getting the tread life on the AT3W's?
I figure they wear quick being rated for severe weather (I.E. softer rubber).

Don't even have 1000 miles on my AT3W's yet but love the tread design, 55,000 mile warranty, and
was really impressed with the thickness and strength of the sidewalls when I compared them to the
KO2's. I was amazed the 3 ply rated sidewalls on the KO2's seemed really flimsy and thin compared
to the AT3W's....

They're 10 ply all terrains but Falken doesn't call it a 3-ply sidewall, that's why I was amazed at how tough and thick the side walls were compared to a known 3-ply sidewall Tire like the ko2....

for those running the Falkens, are you experiencing any wobble/vibration at highway speeds? I have just a tiny shimmy/wobble/shake coming from the front end at speeds over 60mph

I have a vibration aswell. Overall i like the tire. I have about 5k on mine. I got an oil change after about 1k miles on them and took the time to have them rotated made the vibration less which from what I have read would point to the tires. Next oil change i will have them checked and maybe rebalanced.

I took the truck to firestone at lunch, and they did have to rebalance both front tires. Having the rear checked also. Anthem will reimburse $20 per wheel for that expense.

No wobble on my 285x70-17s. Too soon to discuss wear. Great tire for performance, looks and price.

I feel a bit of a wobble if I change lanes while accelerating which im not a huge fan of but overall I like them. I cant even promise you that the tire is causing the issue. Its more of a pulling feeling which might something else.

I had Falken Wildpeaks on my last truck with plenty of tread and they were the worst tires I’ve ever owned. They were absolutely useless in the snow. My work car which is a FWD Nissan with all season coopers was more effective accelerating and stopping in the snow than my truck was in 4wd

I recently threw on some Kuhmos and I’m loving them but they are a different type of tire.

Around late 2015 or early 2016, they redesigned the tread pattern and are night and day difference now in relation to snow traction. Prior to that, I would agree they were crappy in the snow.

I'm pretty sure you must be referring to the old AT2 wildpeaks

I'll agree with you, those were terrible in snow.

The new AT3W's will run circles around those.

And i also have a slight shimmy in my brand new Falken AT's at around 60-65mph, i'll have them re-balanced at my local America's Tire where i bought them couple of weeks ago, i don't think it'll be the tire, but more likely human error from the guy doing the balancing who wanted to go home, it was almost 6:00pm when they're were doing all 4 :) Don't know how long they'll last as it's the frist time for me running this tires, but they're priced on what i wanted to pay for new tires..

I know my 305-55-60 would last much longer if I could keep from Melting them down.==========
