2012 Ram 1500, manual seats. His 4-hundo fatty pal tried to adjust the seat and broke it. The seat back is in the most upright position. Pulling the handle on the side to adjust it does nothing. Feeling up inside of it, nothing seems to be attached to the handle any longer. He didn't have time for us to take the seat out or remove any trim.

Not sure if the linkage broke or just came off and needs a retaining clip, we'll have to mess with it when he has time (he's doing a 58 hour work week right now).

OEM MOPAR Link for 2009-2025 Mopar

Is what I'm thinking the link is. Anything else that anyone can think of it might be? I'd rather have cheap parts on hand just in case when he has time.

Doc it usually makes it easier if you post an actual link to the part most times. The page gets credit for the links alot of times.

Hard to say what it might be w/o a look.

If you remove the seat from your tk, put it on a table or ground, one can (gently) remove the plastic and then the seat back ...and get to the mechanism...put your eyes on the situation. Could be something like a bent notch or tang ...or something a guy can qiuck re-weld/fix?? Hard to say in a case like this.

If you go to Y/T and type in something like 'how to reupholster Ram tk seat', there will be several videos how to take the seat apart. I've done it. It takes a bit of time but not exceptionally difficult once you've seen a video or two. The hardest part is gently working a couple plastic pieces off w/o damaging the hold-down clips. So take your time on those. Good luck!

Let us know what you find, I'm curious :waytogo:

I'll let you guys know, but it'll be awhile before we get to it. I don't know how to weld and don't have the equipment, so any welding at my house would be done by JB...
