2015 RAM R/T no mud flaps up front and tonight I took off the rear flaps. Yes or no to no mud flaps all the way around. I have 3M along the bottom from the front of the door to the bumper but at the back it looks like the last tread will be able to throw rocks/debis.

So yes or no to removing just the fronts or take all mud flaps off ie front and back. Oh with mine being lowered 2/4 do I legally have to keep the back mud flaps on?

Thanks to anyone that replies to this earth shattering question lol:favorites13::favorites13:

My vote is keep them on. You've got the 3m, but you will get a lot of rocks come up and hit the paint. I had that happen on my 2014 before the mud flaps came in. I didn't have 3m, and had black paint. Touch up paint was my friend!

It'll help keep the salt off in the winter too

Might want to check state laws on mudflaps. In MT the wheels are required to be covered full width to center of wheel.

Of course nobody pays attention to that rule and my windshield pays the price.

Flaps all around. The front ones protect the paint on your vehicle from rocks and salt spray, the rear ones protect the windshields of those following you in traffic. I live in UT, where flaps are not required, and the high rate of windshield replacement gets reflected in premiums. ID requires mud flaps to be installed on new trucks sold there...

As picky as you are about the way your truck looks, I think you better leave them on to help avoid any rock chips if you can :naughty::naughty:

thanks for the replies guys, here is what I think I am going to do (especially since I purchased all the supplies today lol) I am going to paint the rear mud flaps to almost match the truck paint. I have taken off the rear flaps and washed them up real nice like. I am sanding them x2 starting with 1000 grit and finishing with 2000. I will then use self etching primer and then several LIGHT coats of paint. To finish I will use a couple of LIGHT coats of clear to finish.

I have also taken off the little tiny rocker protectors from the front wheel wells and will be doing the same treatment as the back flaps. How does this project sound???? You don't have to be gentle with me if my plan sounds retarded, I know I can't use the word retarded but alas lol.

As far as not having full flaps for the front I do not drive my truck in the winter and in the summer it is used as a show and shine toy so not to much driving all the way around.

Thanks especially to the members that have replied already but I would truly love to get many more replies. Cheers folks and happy motoring.
