So whats everyones opinion on fender flares, on stock vehicles? In particular, the oem ones.

I can’t speak for any of them. However, I do know that if you get anything that makes contact with the body like bushwhacker flares get clear protective film where it makes contact or you’ll be in for some paint damage.

I had them on my 2008 but sold the truck before I even known these were issues.

The stock ones I would hate to see what the paint looks like underneath after 2-3 years of crud in there sanding away the paint etc

I agree with ^^^ this ^^^ as I've seen the damage flares can do to the paint without something between them and the fender.

I have OEM ones now but will go to a wider Bushwacker flare set. I have wider wheels and tires on the truck now and the OEM ones don't give me the coverage I need.

Would 2 sided tape along the edge that contacts the body help? That way the flare can't vibrate around causing the damage??
