Good morning all,
So, I filled my gas tank about 100 miles ago, and this morning the little light lights to advise me that the filler cap may be loose.
I tightened the cap and the light and message in the message center stayed on.
The very enlightening user manual states that to reset the light ( turn it off) you must hit the "select" button.

I can not find the select button. Therefore, I can not tell if the issue still exists or not.
Anybody got a hint where the select button might be located on a 2013 Ram crewcab?

Thanks,
Jim

Good morning all,
I posted this yesterday on the 4th generation site . No response received yet so I thought, perhaps I would ask in general conversations .
Thank again,
Jim

it will turn off after the truck detects the issue has been fixed, it took mine like 20 minutes of driving or so for the truck to realize it and it just went off on its own, there is no button that turns off the gas cap light since it an emissions thing and if it stays lit too long it will throw a check engine light

On every vehicle I've ever owned this would reset itself after some time (sometimes a few days) or so many ignition cycles once the problem was corrected.

Try the left or right arrow buttons as that may be what they mean by "select".

Thanks for the response.
Sounds like patience is in order. Not my strong suit. I'll dig out my patience and hope for the best.
Other forums and u-tube have suggested this is normal practice. Hopefully it wiil do the trick

Thanks again to all who responded.

It would probably be best to see if it will go off itself. That way you know you did not tighten the gas cap enough and it is not another problem. As Demon stated, it should go off after a few miles of driving and if not, then expect the CEL to light up after a couple ignition cycles.

I hope it was merely a loose gas cap, but if not feel free to follow this thread.

Sounds like it was just not tight enough! It happens to a lot of us. Never had it happen on any other vehicle in my entire life except the Ram. Lol.

At least we learned that it will in fact reset itself.
