Well since i got called in to work last weekend i didnt get to go on our trip weve had planned for weeks, and ive been working so dag gum much i got tired of it and left early yesterday to come home and clean up and work on the truck a bit. I finally got my pipe and fittings in that i ordered last week so i could finally get my new custom CAI designed and built. I went to my local plumbing store and asked for some thermal double insulated 3" pipe. and since they didnt carry it i had to order it and some random fittings so i could get it to work well with my BL.
I also got around to fixing my water issue around my intake. I took some sheet metal and blocked off the lower portion of the shroud to keep all the water from splashing up from my tires. Heres some pics of it.

and heres what you clicked on this thread for; pics of the new 392. I finally had time to get some decent pics with a CHARGED camera. after i got my intake installed and everything back on, i fired it up and was amazed at how much quieter it is under the hood, and how much more of a growl the exhaust has, hopefully my Y-pipe will go in next week and then ill really decide if headers are a dire need. later if i get some time after the house work ive got saved up ill try and get a video or 2 and post them for yall.

ive used single insulated pipe before and it barely gets warm after long drives so im hoping that with this being double it will stay even cooler. the issue i have with almost EVERY CAI on the market is that they heat soak VERY easily. whats the point of getting cold air through the filter and paying all that money for the air to just run through a tube thats as hot as the engine to heat it up before it mixes with fuel? it severely cuts down on power and mileage which are the 2 main points that all CAI companies try and promote. and even you guys that have a K&N plastic system have heat soak, i had one on my ZR2 and it still got hot aswell so i know they do it to. I even used ceramic heat paint to coat this with to further help with any heat dispersion.
my air intake temp yesterday going home WITH my powerwire was 95 degrees, its 3 degrees hotter today so here in a bit ill take a drive and see how much cooler this all helps.
