My truck threw its first check engine light. Thankfully I was only a few minutes from home. It was for throttle position voltage, no doubt from my throttle controller so it was put into limp mode. I checked the connections and they were fine so I cleared the code. I left it in because this was my only code so far and it makes the truck fun to drive. I'm leaving the cheaper of my two code readers in the truck in case this happens again.

I have the same throttle controller. How long has yours been on the truck? I worry about this happening to me. I do a lot of driving.

I got mine at the very beginning of December.

PC is nicer and throttle controllers do make the truck more fun but for me it's not $300 worth of fun. For that kind of money I'd get a tune. If it happens again in the next couple of weeks I'll pull it out, if not I'll leave it in. At $45 they are almost disposable, almost.

If you look through past threads you'll find all the throttle controllers including PC have caused CEL's. Not saying everyone will but every brand has.

I must be super lucky because I've changed my PC settings while I'm giving it throttle and I've never had it throw a code. Don't know if its because my truck is a 2013 and maybe not as sensitive...
