First off good evening.
This is my first post but been here for awhile reading threads.

So here we go. About two weeks ago the wife and I were looking to replace our tires on our 2013 Ram 1500 as they were getting down to 4/32th. The wheel setup we had were LT285/75r18 on 18x9. The tire we had were Toyo's Open Country AT2 Xtremes. Which I believe are the best AT tire on the market and this is our third set in different sizes. We go camping, wood hauling, occasional towing and try to do light off roading as much as I can. We were set to get another set of AT2s but we couldn't pull the trigger as these tires were crazy expensive and I wasn't looking to spend $1450 for just tires at our local Discount tires.

So we decided to look at other tires. We decided anything from AT to Hybrid tire would fit the bill if we could stay under $1400. I started to shop around locally and found one shop that gets Cooper tires directly. The deal was real good being under $1300 for a set of LT295/70r18 Cooper ST MAXX.

The day before we were going to get our truck tires we went to our original tire shop(Tire Pros) to get our car tires rotated. I thought since we are here maybe they can price match the offer we got from other shop. Showed them the quote and they matched it but tires would be 3 days out. They showed us the Hercules T/G Max in LT305/70r18 which they had in stock and told us they would fit and price came out lower then the Cooper. The wife love the look of the tire and we bought them the next day.

Personally I like the look of the Coopers better but this is her truck and she likes the look of the Hercules better haha. After about two weeks on the truck the look is starting to grow on me.

They ride real smooth and quiet up about 50 mph. After it starts to get a little louder but can't tell when the radio is on. These T/G MAX do not dig you into a hole and want to keep moving forward. They do great in soft sand, hard pack dirt and gravel roads. They a little taller and wider then the Toyos I replaced. But can feel a small vibration in the steering wheel so I thought maybe give it 2 weeks and let the tires break in. Nothing changed so I called Tire Pros this afternoon and they told me bring the truck back in and they'll rebalance. This why I love this them and been a customer for 4 years now.

Well update after the tires have been rebalance.

What wheels spec and lift do you run in order for these to fit?

The wheels are XD 797. I am trying to keep package light as much as I could. No lift at the moment. Stock ride height but build sheet show "Raised ride Height". Very light rubbing when suspension flexes when making hard left.Screenshot_2018-06-06-09-34-06.png

The truck came with the stock 20 Chrome clad rims which I believe has offset of +19 and I ran LT275/65r18 on them. Mine wheel setup 18x9 with -12 offset which sticks out more.

Ok guys I got the TG MAX rebalance. Parked the truck in front of the store and my guys came out and meet us. Told him about the vibration issue. He said no worry about give us an hour. Got some food and came back. He told me they put balancing beads in the first time and wondered why it didn't work so they did a regular balance with weights. Got back on the road and got her up to 90mph as smooth as butter hahah. Great tire for the price.

Ok 4,500 miles update. I rotated the tires this weekend. Tires came in at 18.5/32 when new. Checked treadwear on all four and they almost all came in around 17/32. Even treawear across the tread. Tire is still very amooth and I bumped up tire pressure up to 45lbs in the front and 41lbs in the rear.

The traction is awesome and tire is still quiet. I love these tires.

UPDATE UPDATE @ 25k

Alright so an update at almost 25,000 miles and almost 11 months in 7 more days. Hahah. I think if can get out another 30k out of them. If I can get to 55k I would be happy with what I paid for them. They are getting a little louder so I been turning up my music that much more haha. My spouses loves the tire because of the look. Did ok this past winter and doing ok on the highway and great at everything else. I think I am going to replace them with Cooper AT3 XLT in LT295/70r18 when these wear out. We been doing a lot of traveling lately and want to get back in the All Terrain tires for the noise and smoothness. AND mpg hahah

The fronts are about

Left - 13.4/32nds & Right - 13.5/32nds

The rears are at

Left 13 /32nds & Right - 13/32nds

Tires are holding put great as you can see. The rear tire is attached. I am very hard on my tires and holding up pretty good better then the Goodyear DuraTrac that I had before.

20190416_194524.jpg

I have recently aired the tires down to 43lbs in the front and 40lbs in the rear. I like these air pressures better.

Thanks for the updates. My local guy is quoting these for me vs. the Mickey Thompson ATZP3's. I like the aggressive Mickey look, but the Hercs are about $300 less.

I do love these tires as well. Had 265/75R17's for over a year and a half and 25,000 miles when I totaled my F-150 in Feb this year. Insurance company said they had over half of the tread life left. I'm a construction worker and got tired of either replacing or fixing flats so went with these because of price and being 10 ply. Never had a flat and was able pull out the couple screws I did get in them. Not bad for $850 installed. Only complaint I had is traction when wet or icy.

I know this is thread is over a year old now. But how did these tires do over the long run? How many miles did you end up getting out of them. I’ve been considering these for my 2500. And I can’t find many reviews on these.
