Howdy. Still a newbie here, but wanted to show off my first mod to my brand new 2014 Limited Diesel. On a good day, i'm only 5'8", so a good running board was in order. For some odd reason, the factory boards were deleted from my truck build. I did a lot of research, and decided on the Bestop PowerBord NX. I did read that Bestop is just a cheap Chinese knockoff of AMP. Even so, these are the NX boards, that have wireless sensors in them. Something that AMP doesn't offer right now as far as I know.

I found mine online at PowerBoard NX by Bestop $100 Cash Back | 4WheelOnline.com. Their online price was pretty good, and when I call them, they took off another $120, "just because". Shipping was free and fast, and I only paid $1,077 (retail was around $1,400) There's also a $100 mail in rebate going on from now until the end of 2014.

I had my local truck store install them for me (Trick Trucks of Lexington Park, MD). It only took them 3 hours. They had never mounted these new NX boards before. Like a lot of other people have said, the instructions were kind of lacking. They ended up going on YouTube to get a better idea of what to do. In the end, they did like the wireless mounting of the door sensors. No need to tap in the trucks wiring harness and splice into the door wires. Time will tell to see how long the batteries last in those sensors. Total labor costs were $240. (the only thing in my tool box is a credit card, so this was money well spent )

I gotta say that I really like these steps! Very wide and sturdy when they are down. You can't even see them when they are up. There are LED lights built into them so that they are illuminated at night. Overall, very nice product. In a couple of months, I'll try to update this post to let y'all know if I have any problem with them in the cold and snow. Here's a few pics:

I bought the same boards to. The main reason was for the wireless sensors. I have the "million mile" warranty and did not want to tap into the factory wiring harness. I do like the boards but I fight squeaking from time to time.

I wanted to tell you that you can call Bestop tech support and they are great. When I installed mine, the steps were not level. They hung a little lower at the back of the truck. When I called them with my problem, they said "Oh yeah, we have redesigned the boards for your truck". They sent me new parts and new instructions. They seem to work much better now. Basically, the upgrade is two more idler brackets. When complete there will be three brackets for each board with the driven bracket in the center. It has a much stronger feel to them.

For the price of a phone call, I thought it was well worth the effort.

Look like a great option, it looks great on your truck. I wonder if there is clearance for front mud flaps? is it possible to get another pix front wheel area. Thanks in advance

WhiteBuck, here's a better pic of the clearance. It'd be tight, but you might be able to add a mud flap. A hard flap would probably work better than a really flexible one:

Looks nice. Seems there would be enough space.

Here are my weathertec mud flaps with OEM wheel to wheel side steps.
