First time buying a vehicle by text message

I traded my 16 in for a 20 last week. Dealerships in Michigan are remote sales only right now, you can't go into the showroom and you can't test drive outside of a random parking lot outside of the dealership. Did the entire thing by text, the credit app was online. I drove my 16 to the dealer, they looked it over and I left, all done outside. New truck was delivered to the house, paperwork signed then and they took the old one.

Smooth experience but incredibly different. But I would do it the same way again.

Getting EP means there's really nothing to discuss or negotiate. You pay what Chrysler says you pay and that's about it. If I had to actually negotiate I don't think I'd do it that way.

Fair enough. The purchase price of my Ram was agreed upon over the phone and email. Walked in to sign papers and drive off; Pre wuhan virus.

didnt buy a brand new truck, but i did all my negotiating over the phone, told them what I wanted for my trade, test drove truck, left about 15 minutes later with it. I prefer social distant transactions

It is a strange thing to do. I live in Texas and had my Hellcat delivered to me at my house. It was used so I just had them drive it here and they took my old 392 back with them. Just signed some papers and was done. They gave me the best deal out of everybody for my car with just a few pictures.

Awesome! I did all my negotiations down to the penny via email before ever talking in person to the salesman. Love how that works.

Same for me, last Saturday I went to the dealer by appointment only. I had negotiated the price and payments before stepping foot in the dealer. I had picked my VIN # off the lot. They offered road tests , the vehicle was wrapped in plastic and supposedly cleaned between anyone testing. I drove it for 10 minutes and completed the sale from in the parking lot on my cell phone except for 4 signatures. They disinfected the table and the pen I sat at and used. Best new car experience in 30 years of buying cars.
