Hey everyone. This is my first Ram after driving F150s forever and i'm in love with it so far.
2016 Ram 1500 Tradesman single cab, short bed, 2WD, 5.7 Hemi.
I'm looking to level the front end and put bigger tires on my stock 17s. i was told that my truck can only fit 33 inch tires on a leveling kit and if i wanted to go bigger i would have to lift it higher (which i don't have the money for right now)
As a new ram owner and someone who isnt very mechanically inclined i was hoping yall could give me some info as all my searching has come to a hault because im not sure if im looking in the right areas.

Can i fit tires bigger than 33 inches on my stock 17 inch wheels?
if so: what exact measurements should i shop around for.
Will i need wheel spacers?
if so: what size?

I appreciate anyone taking the time to read this and help me out. go easy on me though im new here!
Thanks!

Your wheels are 17x7 so the widest you can probably go is 10.5 on the tire. Most people on here go with Bilstein 5100 shocks which are adjustable and can level out your truck. 35s are the tallest you can fit on a leveling kit but it also depends on the offset of the wheels. Options are limited with those wheels because of the width. 9in wheels will open your options. Read the very top thread in the section to get the most information.

I like you have a 2wd. I don' t think that bilstein has a set of adjustable 5100 shocks for the '15 and up rams. I have a 2" rake in my '17 crew cab sport. I want to take it up such that I have a .5ish rake. From what I have been reading the only way to raise it 2" and below are with spacers. I've read some say you need the shock extenders and some say you don't. If I have to pull the springs to install the spacers I am going to go ahead and replace the stock struts with bilstein non-asjustable 5100 and add the Mevotech Control Arms.

If any one else wants to chime in on a 2wd level recommendation I would greatly appreciate it.

Just saw it’s 2wd. You’re right, no adjustables. That’s what happens when I’m in a rush. Maxtrac has a 2in lift coil springs with shocks
