First time truck owner.. 2023 Ram 1500 Classic

Hello..

I took the plunge and bought a Ram 1500 Classic '23 as the title says.. Also first time owning a truck!

What accessories should a first time owner look into getting..

Some details on my build

Hemi 5.7L Tradesman 4x4
Chrome package
Off-Roas Package
3.92 rear axle
7-Pin hitch wiring
UConnect 5 8.4" w/o Nav
Vinyl Seats (Bench front and back)
5.8" box

Things I've done to the truck:

-- Had a spray-in bed liner (Rhino) put in at the dealer

Things I've ordered:

-- Sun Shade 'cuz Texas
-- Ratcheting cargo bar
-- Fox Tailgate pad to throw our bikes on the back of it

Things I've noticed that I need at some point:

-- Steering wheel controls for audio (First vehicle I've owned in a while where it wasn't part of the steering wheel)
-- Running boards (Wife can't get into the truck lol)
-- Tonneau cover (Any good recommendations?)
-- Rail system(?)
-- Tie downs? (?)
-- Good cell phone mount (Seen some ones that can be affixed to the dash on a couple threads here)

Anything else you guys would recommend would be awesome. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum as for tonneau cover look at peragon. Thats what I have and love it

I have Mopar cover. tri-fold. As for the phone mount. try proclipusa. US company, many options.

Does it prevent future installation of a bike rack for example? Or does it fold away or have the ability to take out completely. I ask this because at some point we’ll all have full size mountain bikes and might to fork mount them to be able to fit all of them.

We can help with some of those mods.

For bed cover check out BAK MX4, Lomax, and RetraxPRO XR. We have other options but I think these would work well for you and are very popular options

For steps the AMP steps are a great option but we offer others as well.

Message me for a quote on anything. We offer just about everything like, exhausts, bed covers, steps, suspension, intakes, etc....

technically yes. So you shouldn't go with that option. It folds up, but you would be missing few inchs. 6 maybe?
I have small bed, my 4 wheelers don't fit. I don't think they would fit even if I didn't have cover though.

On my 2016 Classic I had a Gator roll up cover and a Prorak rack for my bikes. The two together worked
extremely well. I purchased a 2020 Limited and will not be using the Prorak setup anymore and my new truck
has a Trifold made by Extang. I plan to sell both the Prorack and the three bike setup of Yakama bike
racks.
