first Trans hiccup/problem? :(

Well I hit 7716 yesterday... pull into coppers cove theater to go watch " the avengers"

I go to reverse into a parking spot and i goto a complete STOP..
then to N then to R.... the letter turns Red and i go and push the accelerator down to move... then it goes from RED to WHITE... and no gear is selected.


the engine revs and doesnt go no where like im in Neutral... I wait for it to idle down to normal idling rpms and put it in park then reverse agian...

It engages and i reverse into the parking spot no problem and i have yet to have another problem with this....




Anyone have a similar issue... cause the dealership never seen or heard of this issue... I have never put the truck in reverse while moving forward nor into park while moving...

It could be possible the shifter just wasnt completly on the R. Ive done that a couple times. I would try and recreate the situation and just note every move you make.

oh trust me i did.... and yet to recreate it....

i do sumtimes not put the shifter all the way in park and cant pull the key out lol

Yeah seems like you didn't quite have it all the way in gear. That would have to be the one thing I don't like about my express, the finiky shifter.

i have had problems with mine. it shifts hard(like a shift kit) from first to second. then i also have problems in reverse. its almost like when backing up a hill it shudders like it is not getting enough fuel. i have taken it to the stealership and they replaced a solenoid for shift time. they said it was good. drove the thirty minutes to the house and it did it again... took it back as soon as it did it. they test drove it. filled it back up with gas( very nice of them) and said they could not find anything... i made sure my complaint is in the file so when the tranny goes out its on them and not me. they basically told me that untill there is amajor problem just to drive it...

Mines on the column I think 0212353 is right all expresses are on the column. Pretty sure you have to have bucket seats to get the console

My sister's work truck 2012 Ram 2500 with 5.7 acted this way till the truck would not come out of park. It did not matter what gear the selector was in. I just rolled over 6k in my 2011, and starting to do some strange things. Fingers crossed.

this is almost same thing i had but with drive and i was definitely in gear and the d was lit and like i was in "n"
