I spoke to three different Dodge Dealerships in an hour driving radius of me and got three different quotes for flashing a sales code to the BCM of my 2017 Dodge Ram 2500.... $180, $130, and $115! Is this the only option or is there a little cheaper way of adding the sales codes?

they are basically quoting you their shop rate. Looks like the first one is quoting 1.5 hours and the other two 1 hour or just a bit more, like 1.25 hrs.

It used to be that only a dealer's scan tool could access and flash the BCM. There is an Autel tool available that can access the BCM but I am not sure if they can flash sales codes.

You can rent one from a forum member here aka @4x4x4door. I'd send him a PM to discuss exactly what the tool can and can't do.

Which sales code are wanting to have flashed? The software that I use is AutoEnginuity. The Autel is great for adjusting the TPMS settings but doesn't offer much in the way of adding sales codes. Technically, the AutoEnginuity doesn't add sales codes either, but rather it 'enables' the options. The difference being that the added options are not stored in the FCA system and if you ever have to get the BCM flashed by the dealer (not likely but not impossible), you're likely going to lose those 'enabled' options. If you're good with that, then I do rent the AE software on a netbook that is less than your cheapest dealer and you can enable as many options as you'd like. Shoot me a PM for details.

There are hundreds of settings but here are a several of the popular ones ...
Add: Fog Lights, Heated Steering Wheel, Heated/Ventilated Seats & LED lights
Adjust: Different sized fuel tank, Speedometer for larger tires and Change the country code
Enable: LED lights, Daytime Running Lights, Heated/Cooled Seats, Door Panel Lights, Fog Lights with High Beams & Transmission Re-learn Process.

Just be warned, there are some options the Auto Enginuity ***** with if you enable some stuff. It has a nasty habit of either whiping whole config lines or corrupting other options in the BCM.

While this is true, ive flashed a decent amount using the AE tool. Trick is only try what others have accomplished. Do not wander off the path to figure out what might work.

Hey 4x4x4 can you unlock the spare camera input on the 8.4 radio? I have a 2015 that has OEM bu camera on rearview mirror and OEM cargo camera on 8.4 screen. The newest uconnect update just removed the cagro camera comming on when in reverse as well as the option to switch between the bu camera and cargo, there is no video feed when I would select the BU camera on the 8.4, just got blue screen. But I would like that all back so I can add my camper camera into those pins that are trying to read the BU camera on the 8.4. Thinking the AE tool could possibly do that. Let me know please.

Would I be able to add code LM5? I want to turn on the amber LED's for daytime running lights but OBD Genie wants $200?

Now you've got me intrigued, I installed the heated/ventilated seats in my 2010 with the factory buttons out of a Laramie, they work flawless with the exception of the button LED's as anyone who has done this on the early 4th gen knows. Will this enable them to work on a 2010 or just the later, 13+, models?

True, but I wonder if this has changed with newer software versions. I've accidentally changed a setting that someone else said caused an issue and I didn't experience any ill effects. I've helped dozens of guys change basic settings without issue. I'm not saying you did, but people sholdn't go enabling SRT functions and expect perfect results.

I couldn't agree more.

LED bed lights has been a mystery. I have them from the factory but no single setting that I've found will disable them which means I can't figure out what would enable them. My guess is that it's combination of settings which is like finding a needle in a haystack. Others have reported that messing with the HVAC system can cause issues like CuylerTech described. I personally have changed them on my truck without any noticeable problems. I accidentally changed mine and then tried several to get it back to the way it was and it works perfectly fine now.

If I understand correctly, this sounds like a firmware update change. The AE software can't do anything about that. For the CD player, the radio has functions after you insert the CD? But if you have one in there already, there's no way to tell it to start playing. I looked thru the AE options, but didn't see anything obvious for that.

I wish I had a list of options that are enabled with each sales code, but I don't. I'd gladly pay someone if they could find one. BUT changing the DRL lights can be done with the AE software. They can be enabled or disabled as well as change the brightness and light that's turned on. I've not personally does this but I've seen the settings.

I asked about the DRLs on 2017 1500 and they told they couldn't find the LM5 sales code to turn them on.

Here's a clip of the BCM options from my 2016 2500 using the AutoEnginuity software. I'm fairly certain this would be the same for a 1500. I just had a guy disable them on a 12 2500 too.

4x4x4door, from that pic, I see that the BiXenon and LED lights are options (Course, you have a Laramie). I'm wondering if this means you can now upgrade the Quad headlights to the projectors and no longer need the resistor packs to make everything function. Have you heard of anyone doing this? There isn't much that I found on this specific issue using the Auto Enginuity software.

As a follow up, does the Auto Enginuity software only show you options for modules in your truck, or does it show you everything and if you don't have the correct modules, setup etc the options to enable/disable are grey'd out? I read the MASSIVE Heated/Cooled seat thread in the DIY section and some people had some stuff grey'd out and others did not.

I just put on a set of mirrors from a Laramie to my '14 Express. They have the power fold and turn signals built into them. I don't much care about the power folding but I'd like to enable to turn signals and puddle lamps. Are these BCM only options? I found (and enabled) a few different options that refer to the mirrors using AE but did not have any success enabling the lights. I'm curious if I'm missing something.

Several have tried with the AE tool and for some reason it doesn't seem to work for the blinker/puddle lights. The codes you need to add are the LEB and LEC codes. This can be done by the dealer in most cases. There is also a new tool that is able to activate the mirror codes. It's called the alphaOBD tool. A few guys have bought them and are testing them. You buy the program on the Google play store for $49.00 and then buy a Bluetooth OBD connector. STecoD just bought one and has been experimenting with it. You might want to shoot him a P.M and see if you can sent you the links to what you might need.

4x4x4door I'd like to add sales code GXM, for keyfob(as I have a base 2k12 ST). Also backup camera and video play for rear seat(added the uconnect 430n). What are my options, for doing such things, if at all possible?

So I have been trying to get a dealership to enable or provide sales codes for heated/air seats/heated steering wheel/adjustable pedals, for the wife. They enabled upgraded folding mirrors in the past (mind you this is for a 2012 2500 which no folding mirror was available on that year of truck) so I thought there wouldn't be an issue however they've told me no luck Chrysler will only allow for heated seats to be added which I'm like the seats work as of now just the illumination on the buttons do no work regardless I put out a message to 4X4X4door to see if I might be able to rent his software and laptop but have yet to hear back, I'm just curious if anyone is aware of a dealer in the Southern California market Nevada or Utah that would likely make this happen as I can make myself available on one of my trip up to Montana any suggestions would be appreciated.
