Flashing to add trailer brake controller, any alternatives to AlfaOBD?

Hey y'all, I have a 2021 1500 Laramie EcoDiesel. It has everything for the tow package except for a brake controller. The dealership here wants $1200 to install it or will enable it for $225. After reading through several of the posts and watching some YouTube videos I don't think I'll have any issues with installing it myself so I bought an OEM brake controller from NisMopar and a
OBDLink MX+ OBD2 with a security bypass cable. My question to the group is if there is is the AlfaOBD software is the only app/software that will allow me to enable the brake controller. It's not the end of the world but AlfaOBD is another $49 and I'd like to save a few bucks if there's another alternative.

Where are you located? Maybe someone on here is local to you. If you’re ever near St Louis MO or Kansas City I’m right in the middle.

I bought the Z Automotive Tazer DT for my 2021 Ram 1500 DT Laramie that enables the brake controller. It also has many other functions that might be something you would like. It's a bit more expensive than the Alpha OBD2 but it's really easy to hook up and use the functionality. I installed the brake controller myself and the Tazer is an easy install too.

Well almost a month later but;
I installed the factory brake controller in my 2019 that I have had on the shelve for 4 years yesteryday and did the Alpaobd programming this morning it all went quite smoothly.
