Did you drive on it while it was flat? If so its possible the sensor got damaged. If the shop that fixed the tire had to remove the tire from the rim they may have damaged the sensor when removing or reinstalling the tire. If they simply plugged the tire because of a screw or nail was in it then I highly doubt they damaged the sensor.

Drive it around for a day or 2
It should correct itself
If it does not, then ask the shop what might have happened

Gen4 and gen5 Rams are self learning but it should only take a few miles if everything is good, air pressure in all tires and the sensors are functioning correctly.

What does the TPMS function in the setting say the tire pressures are? Check the tire pressure in the tires

Yep, Called dealer and told them the issue. Dealer told me $251. to repair. ???? sensor labor and reprogram. Wow!!
took back to tire shop that repaired, they pulled tire off rim and replaced sensor, for free, Of course. It was their fault.
They had a programmer. Its all good now. Thanks

Another Dodge Dealership trying to up sell parts & labor

They do the same thing if you crack a mirror on the door
They don't let you know that the mirror glass is on the shelf in the Parts Dept.
They want you to buy the complete unit.

Makes a person wonder if that perfectly good part ends up at a swap meet, or Craigslist, etc.

I don't wonder, I'm pretty sure where it ends up.

The shop that repaired your tire fixed it for free because it was their fault it was bad which is the right thing to do. The dealer wants to charge you money because it was not their fault and they consider it to be just another customer requested repair. Yes dealers are known to "upcharge" but they still have overhead to pay and they are in the business of making money not break even. You cant expect the dealer to foot the bill for another garage's mess up. Same thing if the dealer screwed up and you brought it to a different shop. Be glad it was fixed and move on to enjoy the ride

I agree, that dealership cannot be expected to foot the bill for something that wasn't their fault. And you're also correct that dealerships are in the business to make money. But to what extent? To charge $251 for something that trivial is not honest business. A reasonable price would be 1/4 of that and they'd still make money on it. It's no wonder dealership service departments get such a bad reputation. I can tell you that my dealership would outsource that to a local tire shop, which would probably end up costing maybe fifty bucks. But then again my local dealership doesn't play games like the larger ones seem to do.

Glad it worked out. The sensor alone is about $50 retail, right?

They have labor rates that tell you what they charge and it's pretty well known that factory dealer parts are more expensive. I'm not saying dealers dont jack up prices but people dont have to spend their money with them either.

I had the same situation recently. I was told to drive it for a few and it would self-correct. And it did. Works fine now.

Ah, I see, after further reading, that you're up & up. Good on ya.

Absolutely. Thankfully we have other options. No dealership will be touching my truck for any repairs outside the warranty.

I don't think those sensors are repairable and I'm pretty sure they are $$$$.
Always had them reset functionality within a few miles.

The sensors are rebuild-able. Meaning you can swap them into another wheel after rebuilding them. As far as cost goes, I'd say they are more like $$ than $$$$. :p There are lots of places you can get them but BAM has OEM Mopar TPMS sensors for just under $35 each.
