flex a lite 183 help with led to see when fan is on

Flex a lite 183 with VSC controller working fine but I'm having problems hooking up a LED light to see when the fan is on. Just ran a wire to jump off the fan +power, it comes off the VSC "yellow wire" that supposed to be the +power to the fan but it's always on (hot).
Is that right and does anyone know which wire i can hook up to get power for LED only when the fan turns on?

Try using both wires. maybe the controller grounds the circuit to bring on the fan. That's just a guess.

Thanks good point, I have it grounded to the body but ill try to hook the ground to the fan ground and see what happens. Thanks for the input. Ill post results in case anyone else needs this info.
