Ok guys, just bought a brand new flowmaster 40 for 40 bucks! Too good of a deal to pass up. I know our trucks require a 2.5 inlet and 2.5 outlet, however the muffler I bought is a 3.0 inlet and 2.5 outlets. Will an exhaust shop be able to use a reducer and make it work or not?

Thank you in advance.

Yes cause you will need a reducer anyways cause your stock muffler is longer so you need it for length anyways

3 inch inlet is what the stock exhaust actually is, so you dont need a reducer pipe, but you will need a extender pipe to compensate for the shorter flowmaster muffler. I have the exact same one on my 2010

What about the aftermarket Y pipe. As it seems to be recomended for the magnaflow guess it would be wise to use for the flowmaster as well.

The factory piping on the Hemi trucks is 3" coming into the muffler. And I wouldnt waste your time on the Y-pipe unless you are adding headers as well.

So a 3" in and a 2.5" dual outlet is what I need then correct?

Yes. The factory tailpipes are actually 2.25", but your shop wont have any trouble welding in that 2.5" dual out muffler.
