I know you can but I don’t really feel there’s all that much for me to change to justify spending the money on one, and on the security bypass cable thing I’d need which I’ve heard two conflicting stories on whether or not you can or can’t leave that security bypass module bypassed to where it would or wouldn’t let Chrysler’s computer talk to the computer in the truck if it was bypassed; and, if that module is truly behind the big 8.4 radio, even though it should hardly ever happen at but if it ever did, I really wouldn’t want to have to rip the dash apart just to plug the bypass module back in, just to have to rip it all apart again... when I get home to commence using my new changed settings.

Its not as bad as that, at least on my 19 classic.
Plugs inline with oem obd at obd port hanging under steering wheel, canbus modules are up by steering column. I leave the canbus connectors connected and just disconnect the obd connection and put oem back in holder with wires stuffed to not hang down.
Takes maybe 5 minutes.
I just reconnected the bypass this morning after a dealer visit due to a bulb out message from installing "superbright leds" taillight bulbs, reconfigured setting again, waited 5 minutes, all good now. Just made a run to home desperate and no message!!

He said why in the last sentence of his very first post, because of some driving around on a big piece of land.

I’d love to have my fog lights stay on with my highbeams for better deer hit prevention.

I am looking at buying an OBDLink MX on Amazon. Do I also need to purchase separately the AlfaOBD app program for my Samsung Galaxy 5 phone?

The having the fog lights stay on with high beams is another thing you can do with alfaobd, I saw someone else trying to sell you on alfa on another thread. That feature is great (having all lights on) for the dark back roads, probably my favorite and most useful thing I changed with alfa. Was really happy to get the windows down feature back too (where you can roll down the front windows with the key fob), hadn't had that feature since my 2011.

Years ago when it was easy to do on a 2nd gen. I as able to get the fog light to stay with the high beams. Thinking the more light the better. But after doing some research I realized that not the best thing to do. Lightning Guru Daniel Stern explained that when using high beams you want to see as far down the road as possible. If the fog light are on it lights up right in front of the truck. So your eye absorb the light from the fog lights which takes away from you seeing further down the road. If your high beams are on and then you turn your fogs light on you will find it harder to see as far down the road then without fog light.

I sometimes drive in the mountains and every now and then off the highway on dirt roads or an unpaved country or park road so I like to be able to light up the area right in front of me so I dont run over anything that could take out a tire. in those scenarios I dont really need high beams on but would rather have the option to.
