Cummins diesel.
how did you cut the hole out? (tools methods type of bourbon needed etc etc)
the videos i fine, tend to gloss over this important part of the installation.

I see you have a 2017. My 2017 came equipped with a door and filter from the factory. Have you already looked for it?

Used a soldering iron with the flat attachment. It sliced through nicely and clean. Blow Torch and an xacto would work nicely too.

Yes, as Amos says, your 17 should already be cut out with the door.

This is the best installation video I've found. It is also true of later years.

Fast forward to 3:24 to start with the kit and installation instructions.

I have the door, just got it from amazon a couple days ago. Mines a 2016, already checked and I need to cut mine.

To be honest I'm stuck between the angels envy, woodford double oak and e.h. Taylor for Saturday's adventure... with a soldering iron, got a few different tips that should work.

On my 2015 I cut mine out with a SHARP blade on a razor knife ! Some use a Dremel and maybe a oscillating tool would work !
OP Glad yours was already there ! Amazing how much crap it catch's !

I want to add one to my '16 as there is only the "cut here" lines on mine and can see that the angle could be a PITA but do want a clean cut. Thought about the Dremel option but if you make slip - an oops won't fix it. So, thought too about the x-acto knife option. But, gotta get off the pot and order it so that it will at least be here to haunt me to get it installed. My wish-lists just keeps growing (like a good weed if there is such a thing). I'll figure it out when I dig in there fer sure!

Just use the Sheet Rock' Razor knife and like mentioned make several scribes and slowly cut through it ! Yea pain in the butt but very doable ! A bright flash light will be a plus !

Strange, I had a 2016 2500 tradesman, and it came with the filter door installed, but no filter. They must have started including the filter door sometime in 2016, with some installed and some not.

I have a 2011 and had to cut out the hole. I heated up a sharp knife with a torch and cut it out doing a little bit at a time. Everything came out OK.

So, I ordered the air filter kit yesterday and looks like it will be here on the 30th. I should be commenting on the install next weekend. Additionally, my 6" BDS Coil-Over kit finally came in this week and my wheels and tires should be here on the 27th so it may be a very busy weekend!

Had to cut my 2016 2500. Used a box cutter and heated the blade with a torch.

When you cut it out, what do you use for a cover? 2014 Tradesman here.
