I have a 2013 Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4 with the air ride suspension, which has been having issues for a long time now.
1st a little history, the passenger side rear airbag developed a pin hole in it. I lost all the nitrogen from the system and it gets replaced by air drawn into the system through a suction line from the pump. I replaced the air bag and all was well until recently of course.
I now have a truck that has no air at all in the front airbags and the pump will no longer run.
I cannot get the truck into the dealership for another couple weeks and the truck is out in the middle of no where, otherwise known as where I work. I spoke to the dealership and they said that it is possible to pressure up the system (with air) and lock it in position. that way I could drive the truck while waiting for the appointment and parts to come in. The bad news was that they would not explain how to this to me "due to liability issues".
I'm going to attempt to due this regardless, it would be a little simpler job if i have an idea where to start. I'm hoping its as simple as removing the fuses for the air ride system and putting a tire valve on the air line to the system from the compressor.
Does anyone have any experience with this or something like it? I need to make this truck mobile without causing damage to the rest of the drivetrain and suspension. Any info would be awesome!
Thanks
