Anybody know if an Infinity Kappa 1200w or 12" Rockford Fosgate P3 will fit in the 12" drivers side sealed enclosure? I found the end of the internet looking for magnet diameters and such to do the math, but nothing. I know the Infinity is going to require trimming at the cutout and a spacer. I would prefer not to use a spacer as I wan the sub recessed, but i like matching systems and I have Kappa components in all four doors. The Rockford sub will drop right in and I am using Rockford amps so I would be satisfied there. I know the P2 will fit no questions asked, but if the P3 will as well, I will probably go that route.

unfortunately not too sure, but if you already have the box might want to stop by a local stereo shop and see if they got the P3 and see if it'll fit in there.

I thought of that, however, the local shop that has Rockford has probably the worst customer service. Their google reviews even show less than a 4 out of 5 haha. I might just go with a P2 anyway as they are cheaper and I know it will fit.

Pretty sure the P3 is listed on other boxes but not this one I would say no. That being said the depth is only .25 of a difference from the ported box so I bet its close, but I wouldn't try it. It will likely fit, but they want to leave unknowns out of the equation, a spacer could be bought to get that .25 inch back and fit the depth.

That was my thought too. the other variable i was considering is the fact that the P3 magnet is wider than the P2 so that would potentially cause issues for mounting depth with consideration to the curvature of the pod. There again if the magnet is, lets say 6" in theory it should clear as the mounting depth is only 6.6", but at the end of the day, I suppose I'll just have to suck up my pride and go to the local shop.

Unless I looked at it wrong both boxes support of the same magnet

Honestly I would make sure its rated for the drivers side. I have the ported version with the smaller Alpine type S 10" and it overpowers the box at high volumes.

I went with the sealed version since it will be on the drivers side.... this way it will be a bit tighter and not quite as "boomy". I'm not in a huge hurry to hook it up yet as i have a 10" shallow memphis there right now and I still have to run the wires from my aftermarket amp to the rear doors ( they are currently running off the factory amp). it definitely gets loud even with the 10 but I also have the bass control for the amp pro and the rockford amp up in the dash so it's pretty easy to keep everything fairly balanced.

I ended up going with the Audiofrog G12D4.... It will be here Friday and the dimensions look like they will work. The specs are pretty impressive on these subs and there are no brand markings on the sub. Not a whole lot of reviews, but the reviews that are available are great. Plus if it doesn't work, I got it from Crutchfield, so I'll just exchange it for something else.
