Looking at purchasing a new fox steering stabalizer. I run 295-70r18 tires. Will the ats be an overkill for these small of a tire? Thank you.

I am running the non ATS Fox 2.0 steering stabilizer with 295/65r20 (35.1”x11.5”) tires. No issues whatsoever. My truck is a gasser so 600lbs lighter than the Cummins. If you have a diesel, I would get the ATS. The stock stabilizer is a joke. Literally 0 damping abilities (I can push and pull the piston with little effort).

Yes it will be overkill. I'm running 35's and the 4 year old stock stabilizer on my cummins and it drives perfect. If everything is aligned as it should be (and no parts are worn out) you don't need a $400 stabilizer. Too many people use stabilizers as bandaids instead of fixing the real issue with the truck.

Nope I have the 6.4 hemi. Thanks guys. Will I notice a difference with the non ats fox one? I don't plan on running bigger tires because I like the towing power especially with 3.73 gears towing my 28 ft 7k loaded travel trailer.

You do not need an after market stabilizer, you are just wasting money.

Also be aware that those nitrogen filled stabilizers are intended to correct left hand pull that can be induced by some large radial tires. Because you are running a stockish size with no pull you are likely to introduce a "push" by adding one.
The Fox ATS and TS avoid this because of the "trough shaft" design which is good but either is really overkill for your truck in my opinion

Honestly I would just leave it alone. If you feel you have to replace it go with a stock or non-charged type. If you have to spend money the Fox TS would be cheaper then the ATS

Louie,

My experience is that my bump steer is greatly reduced on rough roads with the Fox 2.0. The OEM stabilizer had maybe 20 lbs of resistance (I was compressing the damper all the way without much effort) which is nothing for our heavy trucks. I believe the Fox has 105 psi from the factory (had a hell of a time compressing the Fox when I installed it). Just my $.02.

There is good information regarding Stabilizer shocks on Thuren Suspension website. Nothing wrong with the Factory one. If you think you need a new one I have one that is Brand New for Free.

I am just trying to beef up the suspension. So far I have done is fox shocks and a steering brace. Truck only has 45k miles on it.

The stock unit as others have said is actually pretty good. I beat my truck all the time and it’s still running strong. Go Ats style or leave the oem and put money somewhere else. Beefing up the front end? If you don’t wheel HARD it’s pretty strong as a oem unit. Drag link sucks. Track bar is a worthy upgrade.

I went with the thuren king stabilizer. I was going to go with a fox 2.0 but I said screw it and splurged. I also replaced my rear 3rd shock with a bilstein 5100. The truck doesn't bounced to the side anymore when I go over expansion joints and has zero bump steer. I didn't have much bump steer before but I was going on a long trip with the fifth wheel and wanted everything to be good.
