What the best route to go? Fox box or custom made box? Wanna install two 12's? What subs would be good to run with the foxbox and what amp? And vice versa with a custom box.

Seems like this exact question was asked last week. Either way you go, you need match your subwoofer cu ft. requirements to the box you want to use as well as the power requirements. You will find a variety of opinions here on amps, enclosures and subs but it boils down to what you can afford and what you are looking for

My set up for example, I used a JL Audio 10w3v3-2 sub. That sub works best with .65 to .70 cu ft. for a sealed box and its optimal power handling is 300w RMS. Sounds great and the low bass tickles my eardrums so it is loud enough for my tastes. :D

Did you have your box custom made?

In a manner of speaking, yes. I initially purchased a Atrend Bbox wood box but ended up finding a JL Audio StealthBox fairly cheap on eBay which basically a "custom" fiberglass enclosure.

In my late teens/early 20s I competed in SPL comps. Had a wall of amps and 6 15" subs but now, I am just looking for good sound.

I had a custom built box and then I put in a whole new system and I went with a vented fox box and Ive never regretted it

I had a Foxbox.

It served it's purpose, but I will definitely glass my own next time.
The plastic cup that you install on the bottom is a little hokey, and the overall design of the fox could have been a lot better IMO.
I particularly hated how it protruded from under the seat.
