Hello all! I’m sure some may remember me from years past and it has definitely been awhile since I’ve been an active part of this community, however, I’ve decided to get back into the forum. I recently traded in my 17 3500 for a 19 3500. Only reason why is because the drag link recall that was performed completely screwed the alignment on the 17 where a brand new passenger tire was chewed through in under 3000 miles. Mind you they were Michelin’s. Ram basically gave me the shaft when it came to fixing their mess up. Didn’t feel like spending the money to fix everything and replace my tire on my dime so I looked into the new trucks since I knew I was going to want to upgrade eventually. Pulled the trigger on a 19 3500 Laramie crew cab and couldn’t be happier! I actually enjoy driving and being in this truck. I felt my 17 was just a truck and nothing special to me. I’m glad I found that feeling again. Same I had when I had my modified 14 2500. Anyways happy to be back ya’ll!

Very nice looking truck. Did you get the CTD HO with AISIN 6 speed?

I really enjoy my 18' 3500.

I did not. I went with the 68rfe on purpose. I only tow our fifth wheel at most 8-10 times a year and personally did not like the way the aisin shifted unloaded. Also didn’t want to spend the extra $3k if I didn’t NEED it.

I have both of the CTD trannies, and I will admit the aisin does bang pretty hard when shifting from d to r.

I totally understand why people buy the aisin. Just didn’t fit my application or my wants. IMO the 68rfe serves my purpose just fine. Now if you want and need that 1000TQ, by all means spend the couple thousand and get it. Ain’t nothing wrong with wanting something and getting it just for the sake of personal wants and preference.
