I've been a ford guy for 25 years we've had a few CDJR products in my family, none made it past 70K miles before something catastrophic happened. So I vowed never to own another one. I've always felt they made a great looking product however I couldn't trust them.

Well after a year of wanting to change it up and really falling in love with the Delmonico red color. I moved up from a 2012 F150 EcoBoost to a 2018 2500 CTD. I don't plan on towing much it is my DD I simply wanted a diesel. I got a great deal on it and diesel in my area is cheaper than premium which is what I put in my F150. Ram also offered 3 things that I really like which made my choice easier.... Cummins, Mega Cab, Rambox...the only issue is I picked it up last Wednesday and put 487 miles on it and it's in the shop for a short in the fuse box drained the battery twice.

Fortunately both times it happened overnight and I was at home. I'm not giving up just yet. I love the truck and really love the look. While I wait on the part they are tinting the windows.

Nice truck I also went from ford to ram and havent regretted it one bit. Hope they find out the cause and it doesnt cause any issues other than a drained battery.

They seem confident that they've located the problem so now we are just waiting for the part.

I went from Ford to Ram and pretty much regretted it from 1800 miles on.. I went from a trouble free, quite driving truck with awesome dealer support to a ram 2500 6.4 that had several issues and 2 different dealers kind of wrote me off. I got to the point where I was worried pulling the camper with my family in the truck. BUT, Im hoping that experience was a fluke because I just traded it for a 2018 3500 CTD also.. We shall see if I have better luck with this one! So far so good, but only 260 Miles! Its all a crap shoot.. I don't think ford makes a better truck than Ram, but the Ford Service support is worlds beyond the Ram dealers here in my particular area and that is the main problem.

And BTW that is a Gorgeous truck!

Glad ya stuck with ram. They’re great trucks. You are correct. Ram dealers are frigging turds mostly. There’s some good ones but not easy to find. My next truck is gonna be a 6.7. I’m jealous of both of you haha

I agree 100% they all have their issues but it all comes down to support. More importantly it comes down to training. That's really true with any field. I have a Ford dealership right across the street from a CDJR dealership that are 2 minutes from my house. The Ford dealership is much better at Customer service which is why I ended up 30 minutes from my house at a different CDJR dealership.

I really think this will I'll be fine things have change. I also think this dealership has a better diesel mechanic so time will tell but it's under warranty so at this point I'm not going to worry much. I just want my new toy back!!!

Owned a 1994 F150 - single biggest POS hunk of steel on the road, if it was ever on the road.
-3 starters
-2 wiper blade motors
-had the power windows/doors rewired multiple times
-new exhaust required
-drive shaft went
-brake lines exploded and almost caused me to crash into neighbors house
-truck lit on fire all by itself, when not running...

It was 4 years old with 80k.

I put 160k on my 08' Mega 5.7 - junky Dodge I'm told... replaced the water pump at 110k, that's it. Sold it in perfect working condition.

I went F150 STX 5.0 to 2500 Tradesman 6.4 and I have no regrets. Better than the Ford I every way, except fuel mileage, but I didn’t buy a truck for fuel mileage. I’d only owned Fords, about 6 of them. Last 2 of them posted me off with all kinds of nickel and dime stuff and I got fed up and was sold on the Ram when I saw the price. Got my 2500 for $5,000 less than what they want for their aluminum F-150 XL. Congratulations on the new truck.

Great looking truck! Congrats! I'm a Ford man but sure love my 17 ram. Ford builds a great truck but they are overpriced period. This ram is making me a mopar man!
