The parking brake light/ABS light has always been on in my truck since I got it a few months ago, along with the speedo reading nothing until about 30mph which lead me to believe it was the speed sensor in the rear diff.
I got a weekend to work on the truck (second truck I never drive it), I replaced the upstream 02 sensor, the plugs (looked like they were covered in coolant I think Im going after the intake gasket), cleaned the IAC, and put new pads and rotors on the front with new sliders.
When I did the front brakes I replaced all the hardware, along with the sliders, and greased the back of the pads and sliders. The pistons compressed easily, and the sliders move freely.
I took it out for a test drive and both sides were smoking after only a few miles. If I have the truck in gear and just let off the brake it will roll, and I can roll the truck by hand in neutral. I am thinking I am going after the rubber lines to the calipers, but I heard you need 23psi of pressure in the master cylinder to open the ABS valve for bleeding, or open the ABS valve with a scan tool to bleed the system so I am afraid to open a line. I have seen first hand a chevy which could not be bled with out having the ABS valve opened with a scanner when I was turning wrenches. Anyone have any issues bleeding the brakes?
